writing on the wall social media

I do not own this photo. I took it when I was at the University of Pennsylvania in the late 90s. I was sitting on the second floor of my dorm room and the lights were on. I see this photo of an elderly woman sitting on a wall. I am sitting right underneath her on the floor. I am so proud of myself. I was sitting in my chair. I saw her and she looked up and smiled at me.

I’ve always found writing on a wall a bit creepy. In fact, it’s not even a real wall. It’s just a metal post. I was so surprised when I saw it and I thought someone had left a message.

You know when you go to a bookstore, you look up at the shelves and you see a bunch of books and pages and books and pages and pages and pages and words and words and words, and you say to yourself, “I know I should read some of these books. I should do this and that.” And then you do. For some reason, writing on a wall seems to be the only way to do it.

Well, I thought that writing on a wall was the only way to do it, too. But I guess I’m wrong.

If there is something that social media makes us do more than write, it’s post things that you don’t actually want to read. It’s like texting your kid and texting your boss and texting your girlfriend and texting your grandmother. It’s just easier to just type “I don’t want to read this.” than to actually think about what you’re writing.

But if you like to write, and if you like to post things you dont want to read, then writing on the wall is a way to keep things moving. There will be days you dont write because you have no idea what youre writing, or days you dont post because youre bored. Maybe all of us have days when we dont feel like writing or posting, but we find ways to make the post or write easier.

What if your blog or website is the only place you can post things you dont want to read? That sort of thing can cause major problems, like when I started my blog, I just posted links to anything I wanted to read. I had nothing to say about my blog, and when I was bored, I simply posted links to things I didnt want to read. It was a good idea, but I ended up with the worst blog ever.

I have a friend who blogs and she has her own blog. She also has a way that she posts things and people can find them easier through a social media tool. I have a friend who does the same thing and then they have a blog. I say this because they don’t have to worry about how to post their stories or videos on their social media account, it’s all automated for them and they just post what they want to see. They don’t even have to bother with writing.

The problem is that you have to put time into writing just to get through the first few posts. You then have to go back and write again and again to get to the point where you are writing something to share for a larger audience. This is why blogs tend to be less interesting than e-zines because the posts are limited to about ten or fifteen words. This is why I had a hard time getting my friend to start a blog.

The fact is that you should be writing to share information and not just to put your own ideas out there. You also have to be willing to put in some time into your writing. If you use an outline, you have to go back and rework it. If you use a list, you have to go back and rework it. If you do it right, you should be able to take your posts and turn them into something you can share with your readers.
