Social media picture frames are great for a lot of things. They’re a great way to use a picture as a background for your posts or website posts, or a way to show off a new blog post or video. They can also be a way to showcase a particular person or organization, or even a particular occasion.
For instance, in the picture below, the frame was made by the team at The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) for an event they’ve put on every year for the past five years. It used to be a simple way to display a picture of a designer or designer’s company on a wall, but it’s become an event itself.
The FIDM team made a frame to display their latest event, called “Social Media Photo Frames.” The design is simple and sleek, but the frame itself is made of several pieces of reclaimed wood that are then painted in a unique shade of green.
My favorite part of the event was the way the two of us, the designers and the artists, could be part of the actual event along with the designers, the attendees, and the volunteers. We could even sit at the table and interact with the other designers and artists. It was great.
The photo frames are so simple and sleek, I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a photograph taken in a frame that was so easy to navigate. I’ve seen people with their faces buried in their heads on Facebook or in a book, but I’ve never seen it done this simply. I’m glad it’s possible to make such a simple thing so elegant.
