Social media has become very popular. A lot of people use it and I’m here to tell you they’re not doing it right. This list will help you learn how to use it properly and avoid some of the pitfalls.
Here’s the deal. When you’re on social media, a lot of times you’ll see a link on your profile that says something like, “Links in my profile will be for you to click on.” Often times this is a social media link. It’s not a link for you to click. It’s a link that says “I’m sending you a link.” What this is doing, quite honestly, is making it hard to tell what is and isn’t a real link.
This is where the trick really kicks in. If you see a link like this, you need to realize it isnt a real link. So just click on the link and let it do the rest.
That’s what real social media does. It makes it so that when you go to your profile, it tells you that it isnt just a link for you to click on. It’s a link that says, “Hey, Im sending you a link”.
If you want to link to a blog, you will most likely visit it. But if you want to link to a site that you really dont feel like linking to, you need to create a page or tag that says, Hey, Im sending you a link. And if you want to link to a site just to mention a friend or person who has done something nice for you, you need to create a page or tag that says, Hey, Im sending you a link.
Ok, so you have a page that says, Hey, Im sending you a link. But you dont want to link to that page because you dont feel like linking to it. You want to link to something else. But you dont want to link to that site because it says hey you cant link to that site. Because it says that you cant link to that site, you know that you will be linking to a site that says that you cant.
The problem with linking to a site someone else has created or a page someone else has created is that it means you have to use their exact words. You will only link to a site that is in your exact words, not a site that could use your exact words.
People use many different ways to link to each other and often this is the only way they can achieve their goal of being able to link to something they want to link to. I have been doing this for years and I still get a lot of hate mail on this site, but I think the solution is that if you want to get people to click on your link, you need to use their exact words, not their own words, or they will never click on your link.
If you are going to use someone’s exact words, then you should also use their exact words in the text of your link. It’s better than nothing, but I would rather people click on a link if they can actually read the text.
