“Sam… I don’t want to let you go.” He shook his head, trying to shake off that feeling of being connected in some way. As if they were more than friends and he was really considering giving up everything for her like she had done for him. She stepped closer still confining them to an invisible bubble and reached out with both hands cupping his cheekbones as tears streamed down her face leaving wet trails over her pink flushed cheeks. And then their lips met again – it felt so perfect just like every other time before, but this kiss lasted longer than any other; it said so much without words.

“What Cat Dragged In: Stories and Tales of the Unexpected”

One of the most interesting things about cats is that they are always doing something. They sleep, they hunt, they play with their toys, and then sometimes, they drag in some unexpected thing like a dead bird or a mouse. In this blog post, we look into stories and tales of what the cat dragged in throughout history!

The first unusual thing that a cat dragged in was supposedly an ancient Egyptian manuscript, which has since been lost. It was allegedly found by an Arab traveler near the location of Cairo between AD 950 and 1050. He took it home with him to Baghdad, but he had no idea what language the text on it spoke because Arabic did not exist at this time! The man showed the book to his friends who were scholars of various languages, trying their best to decipher its meaning from looking up words online without much success. One day as he opened his house door, outran a black cat carrying something white; when they looked closer they saw that she had brought along some pages torn off the previously unknown manuscript!

One story is about Harry the cat, who is living a happy life with his family near the library. One day he went to explore and found himself in front of a bookshelf filled with all sorts of interesting books! Being curious, Harry started sniffing around and one by one he took each volume off the shelf until at last, he came across an old dusty text entitled “The Wonders of Catkind” written by Professor Albert P. Thackery. As soon as Harry saw it, something inside him stirred; this was what Mr. Darcy had been talking about when they were discussing characters from literature that cats would like!

As soon as Harry saw it, something inside him stirred; this was what Mr. Darcy had been talking about when they were discussing characters from literature that cats would like! However, he couldn’t take his new discovery with him because Mrs. Smith came back into the room just then to find Harry sitting on top of The Wonders of Catkind. She scolded him severely for being nosy and told him off again when she opened her library book later that night to find it ripped in two.

Harry found himself feeling down and out; cats were meant to be curious, but he’d never been told off by a human before! The doorbell rang just then and Harry was relieved that maybe this would distract his owner from her book so she wouldn’t find the damage on page 57 of The Wonders of Catkind. However, Mr. Darcy had forgotten about their dinner plans earlier that day and Mrs. Smith shooed him away when he said hello at the door with feline curiosity. He ran back into the house disappointed because there must have been something good for dinner if they’d planned it already. But wait-the kitchen table was covered in delicacies: roast beef sandwiches, cheese scones, chocolate brownies, chicken wings, and then there were the most glorious things of all: a whole plateful of that lovely tuna.

The outside world is full of surprises. Cats are curious creatures by nature so it’s no wonder they’re always getting into trouble. These are some tales from our furry friends about what happened when they got up close and personal with their surroundings.
